KT&G Scholarship Foundation Announces Recruitment for '2021 Middle and High School SangSang Scholars'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] KT&G Scholarship Foundation announced on the 28th that it is recruiting the ‘2021 Middle and High School Sangsang Scholarship Students’ to support middle and high school students facing economic difficulties.
The ‘Sangsang Scholarship’ is a scholarship program that KT&G Scholarship Foundation has been conducting annually since 2011 to support educationally marginalized groups and nurture future talents. This year, a total of 460 students, including 200 middle school students and 260 high school students, will receive scholarships totaling 720 million KRW. In addition, to minimize the education gap caused by remote classes, learning tool sets such as tablet PCs will also be provided.
The application method is for the student’s homeroom teacher or others in charge to apply on behalf of students in need of scholarship support. Applications can be submitted on the KT&G Scholarship Foundation website until June 10. After document submission and screening, the final beneficiaries will be announced on June 22.
A KT&G Scholarship Foundation official stated, “We hope that students facing economic difficulties will not lose their dreams and continue their studies,” and added, “We will continue to expand scholarship programs in various fields to solve educational inequality issues and nurture future generations.”
