View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Amid ongoing verbal clashes among the People Power Party’s leadership contenders, on the 27th, former Supreme Council member Lee Jun-seok directly targeted former floor leaders Na Kyung-won and Joo Ho-young, calling them "greedy seniors." In response, former floor leader Na described the remark as "chilling," while former floor leader Joo also retorted, saying he felt "dismayed."
On the same day, Lee opened his post on Facebook by saying, "While being part of Oh Se-hoon’s camp in the last Seoul mayoral election, I painfully realized that someday there would be a reckoning."
He criticized, "Even after the party’s candidate was selected, there were those who, based on their own interests, aligned themselves with outsiders and shook our party’s candidate who had no shortcomings. They were the greedy seniors who did not deserve respect."
He continued, "Those who now try to revert the party convention, which was supposed to be about the future and reform, back to old practices like factionalism, organizational politics, and dividing party positions will be severely judged and remembered for a long time as a cautionary example. I will consistently compete with a vision," he emphasized.
Some speculated that Lee’s remarks were aimed at former floor leaders Na Kyung-won and Joo Ho-young. They have recently labeled Lee, who is close to former People Power Party lawmaker Yoo Seung-min, a presidential contender, as part of the 'Yoo Seung-min faction,' warning that unfair disputes could arise during the presidential primary.

Through her Facebook, she said, "This is a party convention to elect a party leader who must accomplish the top priority task of uniting the opposition for regime change," adding, "No candidate should antagonize or designate any specific individual as a target for 'purging.' This is undesirable."
She continued, "The real target of judgment is the Moon Jae-in administration, which has made the people suffer through arrogance and incompetence," and stressed, "This party convention should move toward unity, not division."
Na also stated, "Even if I become party leader, I will coexist with the so-called 'Yoo Seung-min faction,' and I will ensure that former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min can compete fairly as a presidential candidate," emphasizing, "Naturally, candidate Lee Jun-seok is also a comrade who shares our vision and an important resource for our party."
She added, "I will take candidate Lee Jun-seok’s remarks today as a strong expression of his will for reform. However, I ask that such chilling expressions not deepen the rift. They could cause division rather than unity," she said.
Furthermore, former floor leader Na said, "This party convention’s value of unity, which we must uphold, is far from these remarks. Whoever becomes party leader, we must move forward together."

Through his Facebook, he said, "'Exclusion of Yeongnam,' 'generation change,' 'revival of factions,' and now 'judgment theory'?I have heard these tiresome stories over the past four years: 'Only I am good, only I am right, everyone else is evil. You are the enemy. We will purge you.' These are the words the Moon Jae-in administration has used to intimidate us and the people," he said.
