Recruiting 'Gwangjin University Student Mentors' to Help Youth Explore Career Paths

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is recruiting the ‘Gwangjin University Student Mentor Group’ to share experiences and knowledge with middle and high school students in the area until June 4.
The university student mentor group is designed to nurture university students in the area who understand the local educational environment and characteristics well as mentors, providing youth with opportunities to explore majors and career paths.
The recruitment target is 30 university students who are enrolled in universities within Gwangjin-gu or reside in the district. Activity expenses will be supported during participation, and outstanding mentors will be awarded commendations.
Students selected as mentors will hold an inauguration ceremony in June, followed by attending a mentor school training course to enhance their mentoring capabilities and counseling skills.
Subsequently, until December, they will conduct activities such as ‘Visiting Major Explanation Sessions’ and ‘Online Major Counseling’ targeting middle and high schools in the area, sharing information on major and career choices based on practical experience.
Applications must be submitted by the 4th with an application form, certificate of enrollment, and consent form for personal information use, either by email or in person.

Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Through this university student mentor group, I hope university students who have gone through the career exploration process share their experiences with juniors and spend meaningful time serving the local community,” adding, “We will create an educational environment where growing youth can consider their careers and plan their futures through various channels.”
