[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Volunteer Center of Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam, held the "Everyone's Wetland Naturally" program on the 26th at Jeongyangji Swamp in Daeyang-myeon to preserve the wetland environment in celebration of Wetland Conservation Week.
About 10 members of the Nature Conservation Council participated in the program, conducting environmental cleanup activities around the wetland while simultaneously engaging in guided tours and explorations led by a Jeongyangji Swamp guide. They also provided birdhouse kits, allowing participants to build birdhouses to help preserve the wetland.
This program is a joint activity by the Gyeongsangnam-do Ramsar Environmental Foundation, the Gyeongsangnam-do Volunteer Center, and volunteer centers from 11 cities and counties in response to the climate crisis for creating a safe Gyeongnam. The fourth week of May has been designated as Wetland Conservation Week, during which the 11 cities and counties in Gyeongnam conduct joint activities.
The "Everyone's Wetland Naturally" program started activities on the 26th and will be held two more times in July and September. Applications to participate in the program can be submitted to the Hapcheon-gun Volunteer Center.
