Boseong-gun Creates 'Boseong Premium Trail' for Residents in 10 Million Tree Urban Forest
Creating the Bosung Premium Trail Along Lakes and Riverside Walks
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Cheol-woo) announced on the 26th that it will create a premium path for residents in the 10 million tree urban forest.
The Boseong Dahyang Isipri-gil creation project is underway with the ambition to restore the Dongyuncheon ecological stream and create a premium path in Boseong that supports residents' leisure activities.
Boseong Dahyang Isipri-gil is a 9.2 km round-trip course that runs from Yeolseonru (Shinheungdongsan), where Admiral Yi Sun-sin wrote the Sangyusibi memorial to King Seonjo, passing through Dongyuncheon to Banamgyo.
On Obongsan Mountain in Deukryang, which is currently being registered as a cultural heritage site, a walking trail project called Obongsan Ecological Path is also being promoted for residents.
Centered around the emerald-colored and beautiful Haepyeong Lake, six themed walking trails including the waterfront promenade, Yongchugol Trail, and Hwangsogeoreum Trail are being created, with some sections already open and loved by residents and tourists.
Haepyeong Lake Trail features various tree species such as wild cherry, sassafras, cedar, cypress, bamboo, mountain bamboo grass, maple, heuri, and ginger trees along the path, with wildflowers blooming here and there, making it a healing path where anyone can comfortably walk and heal their body and mind.
In Beolgyo-eup, where the spirit of the righteous army and independence movement is ingrained, a park themed on ‘Ui (Righteousness)’ is being created.
Seongeun Park, scheduled to be completed next month, will feature a statue of righteous army leader An Gyu-hong, the golden fist statue symbolizing Beolgyo’s righteous fist, and sculptural murals that provide an overview of Boseong’s righteous army history.
A walking trail for light strolls will be created along the park, and there is also the Baerong Tree Road (12 km) along the Boseong River.
Starting in front of Yongjeong Middle School in Miryeok-myeon, this path allows visitors to walk along the embankment formed along the river and enjoy the red blossoms of the baerong trees.
