Experience Electric Vehicle Charging Station at Lotte World Tower Plaza... "Strengthening ESG Management"
Eco-friendly Mobility Exhibition with Hyundai Motor until the 6th of Next Month
124 Charging Stations Operated on B2~4 Floors, Korea's Largest Electric Vehicle Charging Facility
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Lotte Property & Development announced on the 26th that, in collaboration with Hyundai Motor Company, it has created an exhibition space at the Lotte World Tower Arena Plaza to introduce eco-friendly vehicles to complex visitors and will provide an opportunity to experience electric vehicle charging stations until the 6th of next month.
Visitors to the event can view Hyundai Motor's eco-friendly vehicles such as the Ioniq 5, Nexo, and hybrid cars, and on weekends, they can receive explanations and consultations about the displayed vehicles. Two electric vehicle charging stations have also been installed, allowing visitors to operate the displays themselves and experience charging. During the event period, visitors will also be given Lotte World Tower eco-bags.
To encourage the use of electric vehicles, Lotte World Tower operates a total of 124 electric vehicle charging stations, the largest scale in Korea, from basement levels 2 to 4 parking lots. In addition to 103 general charging stations, 6 Tesla Superchargers and 15 Mercedes-Benz chargers (6 fast chargers and 9 slow chargers) have been installed. All electric vehicle models released domestically can be charged, and fast charging takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes based on a general electric vehicle (64kW class).
Lotte World Tower is strengthening various eco-friendly management efforts to lead carbon neutrality. First, eco-friendly power generation facilities that convert wind and solar energy into electrical energy are installed throughout the complex. Two large wind turbines operate on the rooftop of Lotte World Mall, and 12 hybrid streetlights using both wind and solar energy are installed around the World Park lawn plaza.
At the Lotte Property & Development office located on the 19th floor of Lotte World Tower, smart sensor lights have been newly introduced. The smart sensor lights installed in the meeting rooms automatically turn off when no employees are present, saving unnecessary electrical energy.
On the 6th basement floor of Lotte World Tower and Lotte World Mall, there is an energy center covering 19,577㎡ (approximately 6,000 pyeong), which serves as the heart of the building. Here, about 12% of the total energy consumption is self-produced through geothermal energy, geothermal heating and cooling systems, use of high-insulation glass, solar collectors, solar power generation, wind power generation, recycled water and rainwater reuse, and recovery of heat from domestic wastewater. It is the first building over 100 floors to receive the LEED Gold certification for eco-friendly buildings from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
