[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) will open the 2nd COVID-19 Vaccination Center at Oryu Culture Center (38, Gyeongin-ro 20ga-gil) on the 27th.
On the 26th, Guro-gu announced, "To improve residents' accessibility to COVID-19 vaccination and accelerate the vaccination process, we have established and started operating the 2nd vaccination center at Oryu Culture Center near Oryu-dong Station on Line 1."
Previously, on the 15th of last month, Guro-gu opened the 1st COVID-19 Vaccination Center at Guro-gu Community Center (21, Gamasan-ro 25-gil) and has been conducting vaccinations there.
The target recipients for the 2nd center are residents of 6 neighborhoods: Gaebong 1 & 2-dong, Oryu 1 & 2-dong, Sugung-dong, and Hang-dong. Residents of 10 other neighborhoods including Sindorim-dong, Guro 1 to 5-dong, Garibong-dong, Gocheok 1 & 2-dong, and Gaebong 3-dong will continue to receive vaccinations at the 1st center as before.
The vaccination process proceeds in the order of reservation holder visiting the center and registering, filling out a preliminary health questionnaire, medical examination by a doctor, vaccination, and observation for adverse reactions.
After vaccination, elderly recipients remain at the waiting area for about 15 to 30 minutes for observation of any adverse reactions. Medical staff and ambulances are on standby at the center in case of emergencies.
Currently, vaccinations for those aged 75 and older are underway through the vaccination centers. Starting from the 27th, vaccinations will be sequentially conducted at nearby entrusted institutions for those aged 60 to 74, as well as teachers of daycare centers, kindergartens, and 1st and 2nd grade elementary school students. Reservations can be made through the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency's COVID-19 vaccination pre-booking system or the Guro-gu vaccination reservation call center.
Meanwhile, to facilitate transportation for vaccination recipients, Guro-gu operates shuttle buses from each neighborhood gathering point to the 1st vaccination center (Guro-gu Community Center). Four 45-seat buses and volunteers from the Guro-gu Volunteer Cooperation Group are deployed.
A Guro-gu official stated, "We plan to complete vaccinations for seniors aged 75 and older by next month," and added, "We will carefully manage everything from reservations to post-vaccination care so that residents can receive vaccinations with peace of mind."
