328 Types of Administrative and Safety Statistics at a Glance... Ministry of the Interior and Safety Launches 'Statistical Visualization Service'
Composed of 8 sectors including government organization and disaster management, providing 166 types of annual statistics with time series graphs
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] From now on, the hassle of downloading the 'Administrative Safety Statistics Yearbook' booklet file one by one and checking the relevant statistical pages in the table of contents to obtain necessary statistical data is expected to disappear.
On the 26th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced that starting from the 27th, it will provide a 'Statistical Visualization Service' to conveniently view and utilize the 'Administrative Safety Statistics Yearbook,' which has been published in PDF format as a booklet.
The newly established 'Statistical Visualization Service' offers graphs and tables for 328 types of statistics across 8 fields included in the statistical yearbooks published over 21 years from 1999 to 2020. The yearbook contains data necessary for policy formulation and execution in administration and safety, as well as academic research, and is composed of 8 fields: government organization, administrative management, e-government, local administration, local finance, safety policy, disaster management, and others.
For 166 types of statistics that allow understanding of yearly trends, the service provides graphs for time-series comparison. Statistics that change annually, such as the number of civil service uses on Government24 and the number of safety inspection facilities for children's playgrounds by year, are provided in graph format to allow users to grasp trends at a glance.
Statistical tables are provided in Excel file format (xls) to enable more convenient use by the public. Through this service, users can easily find desired statistics by topic and field, and can also search by setting desired conditions such as statistical items or periods. The 'Statistical Visualization Service' can be accessed from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s official website (www.mois.go.kr) under the menu 'Policy Data → Statistics → Administrative Safety Statistics Visualization.'
