Smooth COVID-19 Vaccination Progress for Seniors Aged 75 and Over
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeollanam-do Hampyeong-gun announced on the 24th that Wolya-myeon Welfare Task Force and the Red Cross helped more than 600 elderly people aged 75 and over receive COVID-19 vaccinations, successfully completing the first and second doses.
This vaccination was carried out with the Pfizer vaccine for elderly people aged 75 and over who had given prior consent for COVID-19 vaccination.
To facilitate smooth vaccination, about 20 members of the Wolya-myeon Welfare Task Force (Captain Jeong Jeongo) and Wolya-myeon Red Cross (President Gi Hyonam) assisted elderly people getting on and off taxis and buses at the Wolya-myeon Dalmaji Culture Center for vaccination.
Additionally, the members went directly to villages to check vaccination preparations, provide guidance on handling adverse reactions after vaccination, maintain social distancing order, and conduct volunteer activities to ensure safe vaccination.
The Wolya-myeon Welfare Task Force and Wolya-myeon Red Cross are volunteer organizations leading various activities to improve community welfare, such as improving the living environment for vulnerable groups and providing side dishes for elderly living alone, as well as promoting the development of Wolya-myeon.
Jeong Jeongo, captain of the Wolya-myeon Welfare Task Force, and Gi Hyonam, president of the Wolya-myeon Red Cross, said, “We helped each elderly person receive vaccination comfortably with the heart of caring for our own parents,” and added, “We will continue to actively participate in volunteer work that benefits Wolya-myeon.”

Baek Insang, head of Wolya-myeon, said, “Thanks to the volunteer work of the Welfare Task Force and Red Cross members, we were able to complete vaccinations faster than other regions, for which I am deeply grateful,” and added, “We will do our best to actively promote COVID-19 vaccinations by age group in the future so that all residents can lead healthy lives.”
