Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Explores Growth Strategy for IP-Based Content
Broadcast Video Leaders Forum 4th Meeting
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 21st that it will hold the 4th meeting of the Broadcasting and Video Leaders Forum with experts in the broadcasting and video content field under the theme "IP-Centered Growth Strategy in a Competitive Video Content Environment." The forum will examine the convergence phenomena and prospects of the content industry built on original IPs such as webtoons and web novels and seek growth strategies. Jinseok Oh, team leader at SK Broadband, will give the keynote presentation, and Kyunghwan Kim, professor of Media, Video, and Advertising at Sangji University, and Johan Kim, director at New ID, will participate as discussants. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official stated, "The number of original contents that create added value through video adaptations, such as 'Seungriho' and 'Sweet Home,' is increasing," adding, "We will actively support the collection of diverse opinions to foster content creation and build an ecosystem utilizing intellectual property rights."
