The Economic and Social Development Commission Appoints Bae Gyusik, Former Director of the Korea Labor Institute, as New Standing Member

View original image[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Economic, Social and Labor Council under the President announced on the 20th that Bae Gyusik, chairman of the Public Service Development Council, will be appointed as a new standing member as of the 21st.
New standing member Bae is a former president of the Korea Labor Institute. After graduating from Seoul National University, he earned a Ph.D. in Industrial Management from the University of Warwick in the UK. He subsequently served as head of the Labor-Management and Social Policy Division at the Labor Institute, senior expert member of the Economic, Social and Labor Council, and president of the Labor Institute.

An official from the Economic, Social and Labor Council said, "New standing member Bae is the nation's top expert in employment and labor, equipped with extensive experience and knowledge," adding, "He is expected to fulfill his role in addressing contemporary challenges such as youth employment and resolving polarization through labor-management-government dialogue."
