[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is set to support activity expenses for local young job seekers.
The city announced on the 20th that it will conduct the first recruitment of 2,500 young people to participate in the ‘Youth Employment Hope Card’ project from the 1st to the 10th of next month.
The Hope Card project is designed to support job-seeking activities such as employment and entrepreneurship for unemployed local youth by providing up to 500,000 KRW per month for a maximum of six months, totaling 3,000,000 KRW.
The support funds will be provided as points and can be used for expenses such as academy tuition fees, book purchases, exam fees, interview activity expenses, and meal costs.
Eligible applicants are unemployed youth aged 18 to 34 who have resided in Daejeon for more than six months, including those who graduated or dropped out of their final school more than two years ago, as well as university and graduate school students in their graduating year (including those on leave of absence), whose household income is below 150% of the median income.
The city plans to select the final recipients after a qualification review following the application process.
This project has been implemented since the second half of 2017, and so far, 13,826 young people have received job-seeking activity support funds.
For more detailed information about the Hope Card project, inquiries can be made through the city’s Youth Policy Division and the Job Support Center of the Daejeon Job and Economy Promotion Agency, which is the executing organization.
