Relay-Style Donations Through the End of This Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Convenience store Seven Eleven announced on the 20th that it will carry out a relay social contribution activity for children in local communities in celebration of its 33rd anniversary on the 21st.
Seven Eleven is matching its sales and development branches across the country, including Seoul, Busan, Gwangju, and Jeju, one-to-one with 14 local child welfare facilities such as Eunpyeong Cheonsawon, Wongwang Mojawon, and Jeju Boyukwon, conducting donation activities in a relay format. The donated items consist of snacks preferred by children, such as cookies, beverages, and jelly.
The first relay participant, Seven Eleven Jeju Branch, visited Jeju Boyukwon in Naedo-dong, Jeju City, on the 18th to deliver snack boxes. Starting with the Jeju branch, Seven Eleven plans to visit each local child welfare facility linked to the branches directly to deliver donated items through the end of this month.
Meanwhile, as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management, Seven Eleven continues sponsorship and volunteer activities for local communities. Earlier this month, in celebration of Children's Day, it donated 5,500 premium bakery items from 'Bredaum' to 45 child welfare facilities nationwide in partnership with the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation. In February, to help address the blood shortage caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, it conducted a love blood donation campaign targeting its employees. It also continuously donates food monthly to local welfare facilities such as food banks, supporting children in need and elderly living alone.
