Hanwha Asset Management's 'ESG Responsible Investment Report' to be Released Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Junho Hwang] Hanwha Asset Management held its first ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Committee meeting and decided to publish an ESG responsible investment report next month. It also plans to establish ESG investment standards for funds and asset classes in the listed securities sector within the first half of the year.
On the 13th, Hanwha Asset Management held the committee meeting attended by three directors including the CEO, and appointed Kim Sol, an outside director and professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Business School, as the ESG Committee Chair.
At the committee meeting, they comprehensively reviewed the ESG evaluation levels by asset class currently held, reflecting the characteristics of the investment market and the nature of the assets. It was evaluated that the overseas stocks and bonds sectors already have an established ESG evaluation system, and the alternative investment sector effectively manages a diverse investment spectrum by publishing ESG review reports on a project basis. Subsequently, it was decided to establish ESG investment standards for funds and asset classes in the domestic listed securities sector within the first half of the year. Additionally, since last month, they have been providing a daily ESG news monitoring service and decided to publish the responsible investment report in early next month.
