Seoul City Opens the 'Seoul Urban Agriculture Expo' On and Offline on the 27th, a Festival for Urban Farmers
Held from the 27th to the 30th at Yangcheon-gu Anyangcheon Nature Learning Center with the theme of Urban Agriculture and Healing
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The 10th Seoul Urban Agriculture Expo, jointly hosted by Seoul City and Yangcheon-gu, will be held both online and offline for four days from the 27th to the 30th under the theme of urban agriculture and healing, Seoul City announced on the 17th.
This expo will conduct all programs online for those unable to visit the venue due to COVID-19, while outdoor viewing areas such as vegetable gardens and exhibition halls will be held offline at the Anyangcheon Nature Learning Center, adhering to quarantine guidelines.
Additionally, various programs exclusive to the online format will be offered. Over four days, a total of 11 broadcasts on urban agriculture policies, urban agriculture spaces, urban agriculture experiential education, and the urban agriculture industry will be streamed via the YouTube channel. The Healing Agriculture Symposium hosted by the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science will also be available for viewing.
Furthermore, visitors will have the opportunity to appreciate and participate in judging entries for the urban agriculture-related photo and drawing contest. Anyone can participate as an online judge and vote for outstanding works through the Seoul Urban Agriculture Expo website.
Kim Ui-seung, Director of the Economic Policy Office, said, “We prepared this expo to provide various attractions to citizens tired of daily life while considering safety amid the COVID crisis,” adding, “We hope this expo becomes a healing outlet for urban farmers and an opportunity to share Seoul City’s urban agriculture know-how.”
