[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Yeonsu-gu, Incheon has launched the public delivery app 'Baedal e-eum' based on the local currency Yeonsu e-eum to revive the local commercial district that has been depressed due to COVID-19.
Baedal e-eum is a public delivery app of Yeonsu-gu that allows Yeonsu e-eum users to receive the nation's highest cashback and discount benefits of 10-24%, and affiliated stores can use it without any separate brokerage fees, advertising fees, or membership fees.
During the three-month pilot operation period, Baedal e-eum provided various benefits to users, self-employed people, and small business owners, and actively recruited affiliated stores, increasing the number of affiliated stores from 423 to 860.
The number of orders has also steadily increased, rising from 1,365 in the last week of February to 2,263 in the first week of May, and the approved payment amount more than doubled from about 22 million KRW to about 49 million KRW.
The district plans to secure 2,000 혜택+ affiliated stores within this year and improve the order success rate to maintain 98%, excluding an unavoidable 2% due to order cancellations.
In particular, it plans to establish the service early by utilizing the Yeonsu e-eum platform, which has secured 270,000 subscribers, more than half of the total population of Yeonsu-gu, and the spread of non-face-to-face delivery culture due to COVID-19.
Anyone who is a member of Incheon e-eum can check 'Baedal e-eum' on the Yeonsu e-eum main screen within the Incheon e-eum app and pay with the local currency Yeonsu e-eum to receive a 10% basic cashback from Incheon City, as well as a 3-7% self-discount at 혜택+ affiliated stores and an additional 7% cashback from Yeonsu-gu.
