Minister Moon stated, "SMEs are the foundation that supports our industrial ecosystem and the starting point for realizing a leading economy," and evaluated, "Achievements such as being global No.1 in semiconductors and shipbuilding, and entering the top five automobile countries were possible thanks to the strong support of SMEs." He added, "The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will become an industry department that leads change and cooperation as a steering wheel presenting future vision and a platform connecting the industrial ecosystem."
During the visit, Minister Moon promised ▲ support for sustainable growth of companies and creation of new jobs through strengthening the SME growth ladder ▲ enhancement of SMEs’ response capabilities to changes in the business environment such as carbon neutrality, digital transformation, and ESG (environment, social, governance) expansion ▲ continuous efforts to resolve customized difficulties in industrial sites, revitalize the regional economy, and support human capital accumulation.
Quoting war correspondent Robert Capa’s famous saying, Minister Moon emphasized, "'If your pictures aren’t good enough, you’re not close enough,'" and said, "We will prepare and implement policies that accurately reflect the realities of our SMEs by approaching the field more closely and earlier than anyone else."
