[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dong-jin Lee) will send congratulatory cards by mail to 2,877 local youths who are turning twenty this year in celebration of 'Coming-of-Age Day' on May 17.
The congratulatory cards for Coming-of-Age Day contain messages celebrating the youths born between January and December 2002 who are turning twenty, encouraging their future and dreams. To share the joy with Dobong-gu residents, four public youth facilities in the district have posted signs reading "Cheering for your dazzling twenties!"
Meanwhile, reflecting Dobong-gu's active youth participation, local youths directly produced and edited a congratulatory video message from the mayor, which was released on the Dobong-gu website. This video gains additional significance as it was created together by a club from Ssangmun-dong Youth Land and youths who are coming of age this year.
Through the video message, Mayor Dong-jin Lee of Dobong-gu said, "I sincerely congratulate all of you who are coming of age. Your twenties are the most brilliant and beautiful period in life, but you may also feel anxious about the future and the long road ahead. However, your twenties hold the energy to overcome any obstacle, and Dobong-gu will support you as you believe in that power and take on challenges."
