NSC "Communicating with Relevant Countries to Resume North Korea-US Dialogue"… Policy Chief Lee Ho-seung Attends
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the 13th, the Blue House held a Standing Committee meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) chaired by Seo Hun, Director of the National Security Office.
The attendees reviewed the recent situation on the Korean Peninsula and regional developments, as well as changes in the global economic environment and their impact on our security and economy. Lee Ho-seung, Director of the Policy Office, also attended the meeting to review economic security issues.
They discussed ways to reaffirm the strength of the Korea-US alliance through the Korea-US summit scheduled for the 21st of this month, and to expand and deepen bilateral cooperation on global challenges such as overcoming COVID-19, economic recovery, and climate change.
Based on the results of the US review of its North Korea policy, which focuses on diplomacy and takes a practical approach grounded in the Singapore joint statement, the attendees agreed to continue communication and cooperation with relevant countries to facilitate the resumption of dialogue between North Korea and the US, as well as inter-Korean talks.
