Systematic Protection Management Plan Established Through Comprehensive Survey of Designated Protected Trees' Growth and Maintenance Status
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 13th that it will conduct a comprehensive survey to establish a systematic protection and management plan for trees that require special protection.
The survey on the management status, including growth conditions and preservation value, will be conducted by the end of May for 919 trees of 39 species, including Zelkova trees designated as protected trees.
Additionally, according to the revision of the 'Gyeongsangnam-do Protected Trees Designation and Management Ordinance,' quasi-protected trees will be added, and the authority for designation and management will be delegated to mayors and county governors.
Through this, it is expected that management to maintain the vitality of trees with preservation value will be carried out, greatly contributing to the conservation of tree ecological resources.
