Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Opens Exhibition at COVID-19 Medical Facilities to Offer Comfort
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that from the 10th to the 27th, it will recruit organizations to exhibit artworks at public and medical facilities, including COVID-19 vaccination centers nationwide, as well as private companies.
Last July, the Ministry and the Arts Management Support Center supported eight art exhibitions at five hospitals in four regions nationwide (Seoul, Gwangju, Busan, Gangwon) related to COVID-19.
Especially this year, the support targets have been expanded to include national safe hospitals with over 500 beds, public facilities, and COVID-19 vaccination centers nationwide.
Additionally, the Arts Management Support Center has signed sponsorship agreements for exhibition spaces with private companies (The Hyundai Seoul, Heyground Seoul Forest branch) to support art exhibitions in locations with high foot traffic such as department stores. This is expected not only to provide more opportunities for the public to appreciate artworks but also to offer new opportunities for domestic galleries and emerging artists struggling due to COVID-19.
Organizations and artists wishing to participate in the contest must join the art sharing service, consult in advance about the exhibition space, and then submit their applications.
Applications are accepted through the national subsidy integrated management system ‘e-Naradoom,’ and detailed recruitment announcements can be found on the Arts Management Support Center website starting from the 10th.
