Genesis Declares Entry into Europe... Strategic Models to Be Unveiled Within the Year
Sequential Sales Starting June for G80 and GV80... Three Electrified Models to Launch by 2022
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Motor Group's premium brand Genesis is entering the European market. On the 4th (local time), the Genesis brand held an online conference for major European media in Frankfurt, Germany, announcing its entry into Europe.
Genesis will begin sales across Europe starting this summer, beginning with Germany, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. In June, orders will open for Genesis's large sedan G80 and large sport utility vehicle (SUV) GV80, followed by the introduction of the mid-size sports sedan G70 and mid-size SUV GV70.
Additionally, within this year, Genesis plans to launch a strategic model for the European region to demonstrate its commitment to the European market. Dominic Bosch, head of Genesis Europe, said, "We are pleased to launch Genesis, recognized for its design, technology, and safety, in Europe, the home of luxury car brands," adding, "Genesis will provide excellent automobiles and a special experience as a premium luxury brand."
Furthermore, Genesis will introduce three electric vehicles by 2022 in the European market, which is emerging as the world's largest electric vehicle market, promoting its transition to an electrified brand. Starting with the electrified model of the G80 unveiled last month, two more electric vehicles, including one dedicated electric car, will be launched consecutively.
Genesis will also pursue an 'omnichannel' strategy in Europe, selling vehicles directly through both online and offline channels, and will implement a uniform 'single pricing' policy across these channels.
Before the full-scale sales launch, Genesis will open 'Genesis Studios,' spaces where European customers can directly experience the vehicles. The first studios will be established in Munich, Germany; London, United Kingdom; and Zurich, Switzerland, where sales will begin first.
Genesis will especially provide customized customer services locally in Europe. It will operate the 'Genesis Personal Assistant,' offering services from vehicle purchase to after-sales care, and plans to provide warranty, emergency roadside assistance, vehicle replacement service, and OTA services through a '5-year Care Plan.'
