[Asia Economy Reporter Sumi Hwang] A large crane overturned and crashed onto a house in the United States, but fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
According to major foreign media on the 26th of last month (local time), a crane under construction in Los Angeles, California, fell onto the roof of a house. The crane was deployed to assist with the installation of solar panels in the backyard of the house and is reported to have toppled while carrying a metal construction pillar over the roof. The exact cause of the crane's collapse has not yet been determined.
At the time of the accident, the homeowners, Magda Kispal and her husband John Kerwin, were inside the house. Kispal said, "There was a terrible noise, and the house shook so much that I thought an earthquake had occurred." Kerwin also recalled the moment, adding, "The crane just brushed past the center of our house," according to foreign media reports.
The couple had originally planned to install the solar panels on the roof but decided to place them in the backyard because they did not want the roof to look messy. Kerwin expressed his frustration, saying, "My wife wanted to keep the roof clean, but somehow the exact opposite happened."
