According to the legal community, on the 29th, the 11th Criminal Division of the Daejeon District Court (Chief Judge Park Heonhaeng) sentenced A (66), who was indicted on charges of forcible molestation, to 1 year and 6 months in prison with 3 years of probation.
He was also ordered to attend 40 hours of sexual violence treatment lectures and was banned from employment at child and youth-related institutions and welfare facilities for the disabled for 5 years each.
A is accused of forcibly molesting B (16), a high school girl sitting next to him on the KTX train bound for Busan on August 7 last year, by touching her hand and kissing her on the cheek.
A reportedly asked B for personal information such as her name and address and said, "It feels like we are lovers," and "We are lovers," while holding her hand.
When B tried to push him away and get up, A forcibly molested her on the spot and kissed her on the cheek and ear.
A, who denied the crime, is said to have admitted to the charges only after seeing photos of the crime scene taken by B at the time.

The court stated the sentencing reasons, saying, "The crime was committed in a public place, and B is believed to have felt extreme anxiety and shame. It is necessary to punish strictly because he denied the crime and admitted it late," but also considered, "He admitted the crime and showed remorse, and reached a settlement with the victim's side. They do not wish for punishment."
