View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] BYN Black Yak announced on the 29th that it will carry out the eco-friendly campaign "Give PET bottles, Get New Clothes" in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment.
This campaign, which exchanges 15 PET bottles for recycled PET bottle T-shirts from "Black Yak" and "Now," was planned to encourage consumers' voluntary participation in the most important first step of the PET bottle recycling process: separate collection.
Consumers who wish to participate in the campaign must pre-apply for one of the Black Yak stores nationwide where they will deliver PET bottles and the desired product from May 10 for 12 days. Then, they should collect 15 PET bottles with labels removed and visit the applied store between May 22 and June 5, Environment Day, to hand over the bottles and exchange for the product. Detailed information about the campaign can be found on the Black Yak website during the online pre-application period.
The products to be exchanged are eco-friendly T-shirts from BYN Black Yak’s own outdoor brands "Black Yak" and "Now." These T-shirts were launched as part of the first domestic PET bottle resource circulation system established in Korea through cooperation with the government, local governments, and related companies, recycling up to 15 PET bottles based on 500ml bottles.
Chairman Taeseon Kang said, "BYN Black Yak has already completed a PET bottle resource circulation system that solves waste problems while producing eco-friendly products, but this system’s sustainability is guaranteed only when supported by consumers' voluntary participation. Through this campaign, we hope consumers will directly participate in the PET bottle recycling process and develop habits of separate collection for eco-friendliness in their daily lives."
