KT Season Partners with Lotte Homeshopping for Contactless Performance Business
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] KT's online video service (OTT) Seezn has partnered with Lotte Home Shopping to produce online concerts and web dramas.
On the 27th, KT announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for 'joint media content planning' with Lotte Home Shopping at Lotte Home Shopping's headquarters in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Accordingly, the two companies will mutually cooperate for ▲ joint investment and planning of performances such as online concerts and fan meetings ▲ joint production of new web drama and entertainment programs ▲ other content partnerships.
First, KT and Lotte Home Shopping will jointly invest in paid live content in the form of non-face-to-face live performances and fan meetings, and plan to present results within the first half of the year. In addition, they will jointly produce new web drama and entertainment programs while strengthening marketing such as product PPL.
Through this, the goal is to create a successful model combining commerce and content, targeting everyone from the MZ generation, the main consumers of content, to middle-aged and older customers with strong purchasing decision power. KT Seezn launched the live commerce platform 'ShoppingLive' in December 2020, the first in the OTT industry, and provides content from three home shopping companies.
