Resumption of Operations After Renovation of Dolmari Senior Center in Seokchon-dong, Songpa-gu
Seokchon-dong Dolmari Senior Center Reopens from April 28 after Renovation Completion
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) has completed the reconstruction of Dolmari Senior Center located in Seokchon-dong and will resume operations from the 28th.
Dolmari Senior Center is a two-story facility with a total floor area of 155.79㎡, located at 4 Garak-ro 7-gil (Seokchon-dong) inside Dolmari Children's Park. Construction began in October last year and after about six months of reconstruction work, it is now reopening.
The senior center ▲ uses the first floor as the Grandfathers' Room and the second floor as the Grandmothers' Room ▲ installed an elevator accessible to people with disabilities ▲ expanded restroom areas, making significant efforts to enhance convenience facilities so that elderly people with mobility difficulties can use it safely and comfortably.
Meanwhile, last year, the district installed 214 massage chairs and foot massagers in 164 senior centers within the area to promote the health of the elderly. Although senior centers were closed due to COVID-19, operations resumed from April 19.
With the reopening of this senior center, elderly residents can receive massages using massage chairs, which is expected to greatly help those who have been spending dull and difficult times due to reduced outdoor activities during COVID-19 to relieve fatigue and regain vitality in daily life.
So far, Songpa-gu has made great efforts to create comfortable resting spaces by replacing old home appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, kimchi refrigerators, and TVs in senior centers, and distributing air purifiers.
Additionally, the district is working hard to support elderly people to always enjoy leisure time in safe and pleasant spaces by promoting remodeling of outdated senior centers in the area and continuously reinforcing internal and external facilities.
