Support for 'Legal Services and Costs' in Civil Lawsuits Against Companies by Humidifier Disinfectant Victims
Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute and Korea Legal Aid Corporation Sign MOU for Legal Support Project for Humidifier Disinfectant Victims
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] Starting next month, the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute and the Korea Legal Aid Corporation will provide legal services such as legal consultations and litigation representation, as well as support litigation costs, for humidifier disinfectant victims who wish to file civil lawsuits against companies.
The Environmental Industry & Technology Institute announced that on the morning of the 26th, it signed a "Business Agreement for Legal Aid Project for Humidifier Disinfectant Victims" with the Korea Legal Aid Corporation at the Seoul Central Branch of the Korea Legal Aid Corporation located in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
The Environmental Industry & Technology Institute will guide victims on the legal aid project, operate the application reception desk for legal aid, and support litigation costs. The Legal Aid Corporation will provide legal consultations to victims and, if litigation is necessary, represent the victims in lawsuits. To carry out this project, a dedicated task force (TF) for humidifier disinfectant victim relief will be established and dedicated lawyers will be assigned. Both organizations plan to complete detailed preparations related to the project and officially launch the legal aid project in May.
