According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 24th, seven people were confirmed positive by 6 p.m., classified as Gwangju cases 2357 to 2363.
Most of the new confirmed cases were found to have had contact with existing confirmed patients or were part of nth-generation infections.
Gwangju case 2357 is a confirmed patient who had received the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine.
The quarantine authorities estimate that Gwangju case 2357 was likely in the COVID-19 incubation period or infected immediately after vaccination.
Gwangju cases 2357 and 2358 are known to work at the same outsourced medical facility. The infection route of case 2358 is from case 2357.
Gwangju case 2359 had contact with Cheongju case 933, who was confirmed positive the previous day.
Gwangju cases 2360 and 2363 are related to Gwangju case 2339, whose infection route is unknown.
Gwangju case 2361 was also found to have had contact with Gwangju case 2352, whose infection route is under investigation.
Gwangju case 2362 is related to a cluster infection from a social gathering in Damyang.
