Wang was indicted in August 2017 on charges of embezzlement for receiving hundreds of pieces of pottery without paying for them, and was subsequently indicted on multiple counts of fraud, injury to Nancy Lang, and violation of the Domestic Violence Punishment Act. The court consolidated and heard seven cases filed against Wang. Nancy Lang registered her marriage with Wang in December 2017, but in October of the following year, she announced her intention to divorce via social networking services (SNS), later filing a lawsuit and winning in the first trial. Their divorce lawsuit is currently in the second trial as Wang appealed. The sentencing date is scheduled for June 11.
