New M3 Competition Sedan 121.7 Million KRW - New M4 Competition Coupe 122.7 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] BMW Korea announced on the 22nd that it will officially launch the 'New M3 Competition Sedan' and 'New M4 Competition Coupe' in the domestic market.
Both models are high-performance sports models representing BMW M, and in Korea, the 'Competition' specification, which is the top model among M High Performance models, will be launched as the standard. In the second half of the year, models equipped with the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system will be added for the first time in the M3 and M4 lineup.
The New M3 Competition Sedan and New M4 Competition Coupe are equipped with an inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine. This engine delivers a maximum output of 510 horsepower and a maximum torque of 66.3 kg·m. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 12.5 seconds.
Additionally, both models feature dedicated cooling and oil supply systems to manage the engine stably even under harsh driving conditions such as track driving. They come standard with an 8-speed M Steptronic sports transmission with drive logic functionality, allowing gear shift points to be adjusted in three stages.
Both models also exhibit excellent cornering performance thanks to a 50:50 front-to-rear weight distribution, low center of gravity, and wide track width. The torsional rigidity has been significantly enhanced to provide agile steering response and precise handling even in extreme driving situations.
As models designed for sporty driving, both are equipped with 'M Drive Professional,' which allows traction control to be adjusted in 10 stages and can measure and record drift driving. In addition to all M modes including Road and Sport, a 'Track' mode for sporty driving has been added. In Track mode, all electronic systems, music, and infotainment functions are simultaneously deactivated to help the driver focus on driving.
The exterior of both models features BMW's kidney grille, adaptive LED headlights, and M air vents, creating an overwhelming presence, according to the company. The interior maximizes motorsport sensibility by utilizing carbon materials.
Various driver safety and convenience features have also been applied. Specifically, Driving Assistant Professional, which includes steering and lane-keeping assist and BMW Head-Up Display, is standard. The 'Parking Assistant Plus' with surround view function and the 'Reversing Assistant' that helps steer the vehicle backward up to 50 meters along the entry path are also standard. Additionally, the BMW Live Cockpit Professional, which includes the Harman Kardon surround sound system and a 10.25-inch full digital display, is provided as standard.
The prices of the two models, including value-added tax and individual consumption tax (with a 3.5% reduction), are 121.7 million KRW for the New M3 Competition Sedan and 122.7 million KRW for the New M4 Competition Coupe.
