Changwon City Holds '2050 Carbon Neutrality Action Declaration Ceremony'
On Earth Day and Climate Change Week, Citizens Pledge Commitment to Carbon Neutrality Practices
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 20th that it will promote various citizen participation events to raise awareness of carbon neutrality among citizens in celebration of the 51st 'Earth Day' and the 13th 'Climate Change Week.'
On the same day, the city held the '2050 Carbon Neutrality Starts Now, Starting with Me! Practice Declaration Ceremony' in front of City Hall with 20 climate and environmental activists, including the Gyeongnam Climate Crisis Emergency Action and the Changwon Sustainable Development Council.
Following this, a large promotional banner with messages encouraging climate action in daily life and urging everyone to join climate action for the future of children was attached to the side of a public bus.
Events held by the city during Climate Change Week include nationwide lights-out events, a bicycle commuting challenge, five climate action practices on Changwon City's Climate Action Day, and a competition for joining the carbon point system in apartment complexes.
