President Xi Jinping, "A Great Country Must Act Like a Great Country" (Breaking News 1)
Revealed in Xi's keynote speech at the Boao Forum
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Jo Young-shin] "The world has entered an era of upheaval, and as a result, uncertainty has greatly increased."
Chinese President Xi Jinping said this in his keynote speech at the official opening ceremony of the 'Asia 2021 Boao Forum' held in Boao, Hainan, China on the 20th.
President Xi stated, "During a century of change, the pandemic has struck, making the entire world more unstable and uncertain," and emphasized, "We must make wise choices with a responsible attitude based on the common interests of humanity."
He continued, "In difficult times, international issues must be discussed and handled together by all," adding, "There should be no unilateralism by individual countries." This is interpreted as an indirect criticism of the actions (interference) of the United States.
President Xi also continued his speech, saying, "Great powers must act like great powers and demonstrate greater responsibility."
