View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] Rapper Jang Yongjun (stage name Noel, son of People Power Party lawmaker Jang Je-won), who was previously indicted on charges including drunk driving and 'driver substitution,' is now expected to cause controversy after criticizing those who criticize him by calling them "Ddaekkaemun."
On the 19th, a video titled "Jang Yongjun mentions 'Ddaekkaemun'" was uploaded to an online community.
This video is an edited clip from a live broadcast Jang Yongjun conducted on his social media (SNS) account that day. In the video, Jang Yongjun says, "I don't care. Most of the people who criticize me are Ddaekkaemun," adding, "Ddaekkaemun are not human. They are bugs." 'Ddaekkaemun' is a derogatory term referring to ardent supporters of President Moon Jae-in.
When an acquaintance beside him tried to stop him by saying, "Is it okay to say that?" Jang Yongjun replied, "What does it matter?"
Netizens who watched the video criticized Jang Yongjun, saying things like "Irresponsible abusive language" and "Is it reasonable to verbally abuse those who criticize you after you have done wrong?" They pointed out that despite causing controversy over allegations such as drunk driving and assault, he shows no sign of remorse.
