[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Electronics is introducing a next-generation shoe care device that provides convenience through innovative technology.
LG Electronics recently completed trademark applications for related products such as the 'Shoe Styler' with the Korean Intellectual Property Office and disclosed information about the new shoe care device on the 18th. This product is a premium shoe care device that customizes care for everything from luxury dress shoes and limited-edition sneakers to everyday footwear, using innovative technologies such as 'TrueSteam,' which is effective for sterilization and deodorization, and high-performance drying materials that remove moisture and odors.
According to LG Electronics, the new shoe care device finely adjusts the amount of TrueSteam, produced by boiling water at 100 degrees Celsius, according to different types of shoes to minimize damage while removing odor-causing substances (such as isovaleric acid) and odors.
Additionally, the next-generation shoe care device applies new technology that uses high-performance drying materials, commonly used as dehumidifiers and deodorants in various fields, to remove moisture and odors from shoes. When heat and pressure are applied to the drying materials that have absorbed moisture and odor particles, their adsorption performance regenerates. The company explained that this technology reduces the size compared to the existing heat pump method while maintaining comparable drying performance and superior deodorizing effects.
