Spring Renovation of Seodalsan Hiking Trail in Dongjak-gu
New Hiking Trails Established and Maintained in Areas Including ▲Heukseok-dong San 70-3 and ▲Sadang 3-dong San 22-17 by June... Repair and Replacement of Old Wooden Stairs, Planting Trees to Prevent Shortcutting, Installation of Coir Mats to Enhance Safety and Convenience
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Chang-woo Lee) is renovating the Seodalsan hiking trail by June to help residents enjoy safe and healthy leisure activities.
This project is part of the 2021 Seoul Metropolitan Government’s ‘Suburban Mountain Hiking Trail Renovation Project’ and is being carried out with a secured budget of 700 million KRW.
The target areas are ▲San 70-3, Heukseok-dong ▲San 22-17, Sadang 3-dong.
In particular, the hiking trail around San 70-3 in Heukseok-dong, which was connected from the existing Seodallo 2-gil to the ‘Seodalsan Dullegil,’ had been cut off due to apartment construction, causing inconvenience to residents of nearby apartment complexes.
Accordingly, the district collected residents’ opinions and plans to complete the detailed design and review by the end of April, with construction scheduled for June.
The renovation includes ▲installation of deck stairs from Heukseok-dong area to Hyeonchung Dullegil ▲repair of aging stairs on the hiking trail near Haksu Spring ▲planting of trees to prevent shortcut paths ▲installation of coir mats on some sections of Hyeonchung Dullegil ▲and surface maintenance.
The district expects this renovation to prevent safety accidents among hikers, protect the forest ecosystem, improve convenience for users, and enhance quality of life.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Parks and Greenery Division.
Kim Won-sik, head of the Parks and Greenery Division, said, “Through this renovation of aging facilities, more residents will be able to safely use the Dongjak Chung-hyo-gil hiking trail. We will continue to promote various green projects for residents’ health and healing.”
