Shinhan Bank Joins Hedera Hashgraph Board of Directors
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Shinhan Bank announced on the 14th that it has joined the Hedera Board of Directors, which oversees the decentralized management of the Hedera Hashgraph network.
Hedera is a decentralized enterprise-level public network platform that allows anyone to build applications (apps) in near real-time safely and efficiently.
Since 2017, Shinhan Bank has built various services such as policy fund loans, retirement pensions, and over-the-counter derivatives based on the Hyperledger Fabric private blockchain. By utilizing Hedera's public distributed ledger infrastructure, Shinhan Bank expects to accelerate service innovation in the banking sector by building more services.
A Shinhan Bank official explained, "Hedera's public distributed ledger technology meets the fintech service needs for speed, fairness, and security," adding, "It provides sufficient control authority and visibility required by service providers."
