[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Choyoung] On the 13th, Kim Doo-kwan, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, emphasized that "we must not be divided by the pro-Moon frame" in response to calls within the party for the pro-Moon faction to step back to a secondary role following the crushing defeat in the April 7 by-elections.
In a post titled "We must innovate while uniting, and unite while innovating" on his Facebook page that day, Kim said, "The pro-Roh and pro-Moon frame is a frame most enjoyed by conservative media and a frame that divides us."
Kim stated, "Various voices have emerged after the April 7 by-election defeat," adding, "The party leadership has taken responsibility and resigned. Groups of lawmakers, including first-term and second-term members, are taking time for reflection and introspection. More than ever, the path of 'reflection and introspection' and 'change and innovation' is necessary."
He continued, "Change and innovation must start from thorough reflection and introspection. Comrades must never be made scapegoats," emphasizing, "That is exactly the pro-Roh frame, the pro-Moon frame."
He pointed out, "If we made mistakes, we must see through the essence of the issue and not keep falling for this frame," warning, "(If we do) only mutual strife and jealousy will remain."
He went on, "When we were divided and defeated, we lost President Roh Moo-hyun," and stressed again, "When everyone pointed fingers at him, we just watched. And we lost him too. We must not repeat such mistakes again."

Finally, Kim added, "We must unite our strength so that the new leadership can follow the path of change and innovation. The 2022 regime re-creation is possible not through division, but when the Democratic Party becomes one."
