Gwangju University’s ‘Comfortable and Safe’ Campaign Activities Draw Attention
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Students at Gwangju University are attracting attention by conducting campaign activities to create a pleasant and safe campus.
The Gwangju University Student Welfare Committee announced on the 13th that it will carry out campaigns to crack down on smoking in non-smoking areas and prevent safety accidents throughout the campus until the end of the first semester this year.
This campaign involves 44 students from the Student Welfare Committee, autonomous organizations, and student councils of each college.
They will engage in activities including preventing safety accidents and damage caused by smoking, cracking down on hidden cameras, checking social distancing for COVID-19, and preventing electric scooter safety accidents.
In particular, they plan to focus on creating a safe and pleasant campus by conducting guidance activities targeting students who violate safety rules and cause accidents.
Until last year, the campaign focused on smoking and hidden camera crackdowns, but with the increase in electric scooter use on campus, accident prevention activities for electric scooters have been added this year.
Additionally, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on campus, they plan to run a campaign to comply with social distancing when using welfare stores and other facilities.
