Daejeon City Hall Officials and Cheongwon Police Officers Confirmed with COVID-19 One After Another
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Two COVID-19 confirmed cases were reported consecutively at Daejeon City Hall.
According to Daejeon City on the 13th, three additional confirmed cases (numbers 1558 to 1560) were reported in the region the previous evening.
Among them, case 1560 (a person in their 20s from Seo-gu) was confirmed to be a contact of case 1557 and is a city hall employee. Case 1557 was confirmed positive the previous afternoon and had been working as a security officer at city hall. The route of infection has not yet been identified.
This is the first time confirmed cases have emerged at Daejeon City Hall. The 19 colleagues working in the same office as case 1560 all tested negative in COVID-19 diagnostic tests conducted the previous day and are currently under self-quarantine.
Health authorities are conducting an epidemiological investigation to trace the infection routes of cases 1557 and 1560.
