Hyundai Motor Launches Multipurpose Vehicle (MPV) 'Staria' "Leading Future Mobility"
Hyundai Motor's New Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) Staria Unveiled Worldwide via YouTube on the 13th
Applies Future Mobility Design Theme 'Inside Out' to Ensure Openness and Spaciousness
Exterior with Sleek Curves Reminiscent of a Spaceship, Interior Highlights Luxury and Openness
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the new concept multipurpose vehicle (MPV) 'Staria' online for the first time in the world on the 13th.
Staria is a compound word combining "Star," meaning star, and "Ria," meaning wave, named after the exterior design inspired by a spaceship floating among the stars.
Staria is offered in two lineups according to its purpose: the premium passenger model 'Staria Lounge' and the standard model 'Staria.' The Staria Lounge comes in 7- and 9-seat configurations, while the Staria offers various seating arrangements tailored to customers' diverse needs, including Tourer (9- and 11-seat) and Cargo (3- and 5-seat) versions.
Staria is the first model to apply Hyundai's future mobility design theme, 'Inside Out.' Inside Out is a concept that extends the spaciousness and openness of the interior design to the exterior. A Hyundai official emphasized, "Staria completes a futuristic mobility image that harmonizes the spacious interior and openness with the sleek curves of the exterior reminiscent of a spaceship."
In particular, the front of the premium Staria Lounge features a three-dimensional mesh pattern grille and headlamps and turn signals composed of eight ice cube-type full LEDs, evoking constellations. The rear applies a parametric pixel design LED rear combination lamp and a lamp-shaped garnish on top, giving a high-tech feel.
Spacious Interior Also a Strength, Sales Begin on the 15th
Staria's high overall height (1990mm), wide overall width (1995mm), and long overall length (5255mm) secure a spacious interior, which is also a strong point. Additionally, by applying a low ground clearance to the high overall height, the maximum interior height reaches 1379 millimeters (mm), allowing for maximized space of over 1 meter (m).
It also features lounge-exclusive premium seats, advanced driver assistance systems that surpass its class, and best-in-class boarding and alighting convenience technologies, offering top-notch product quality. The premium 7-seat Staria Lounge is equipped with premium relaxation seats that allow passengers to recline comfortably, providing a comfort akin to being in a zero-gravity space, according to the company.
The 9-seat Staria Lounge's second row includes swiveling seats capable of rotating 180 degrees. These swiveling seats create an environment where passengers in the second and third rows can face each other and converse during travel, enabling simple meetings inside the vehicle.
Hyundai will begin full-scale sales of Staria from the 15th. From that day, active marketing activities will start alongside the Next Mobility Life advertising campaign, showcasing a new mobility experience through Staria.
Staria's base selling price is set between 27.26 million KRW (diesel, Cargo 3-seat model) and 41.35 million KRW (Staria Lounge 7-seat model), differentiated by design and specifications according to usage purposes.
