[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] The Muan Fire Station in Jeonnam (Chief Park Won-guk) announced on the 9th that it awarded a commendation to citizen Park Jeong-yeop (66, female) for her role in rescuing lives during a fire at an apartment complex in Haeje-myeon, Muan-gun.
Park Jeong-yeop, a caregiver, heard the sound of a fire alarm while visiting a home as usual at 7:45 a.m. on the 9th of last month. Knowing that an 88-year-old grandmother with limited mobility was inside, she entered the smoke-filled house, rescued the grandmother, and alerted those nearby, preventing what could have been a major disaster. She was recognized and commended for her efforts.
