KOICA-Korea Institute of Local Administration MOU for Developing Countries' Local Administration Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho]The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA, President Son Hyuk-sang) announced on the 9th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Institute of Local Administration (KILA, President Kim Il-jae) to assist regional development in developing countries.
KOICA, specializing in international development cooperation and Official Development Assistance (ODA), and KILA, specialized in local administration, will collaborate to support the establishment of inclusive local governance and balanced regional development in developing countries.
The two organizations agreed to cooperate through sharing global networks, holding working-level councils, and dispatching experts to developing countries.

At the signing ceremony, President Son Hyuk-sang stated, "We will share Korea's diverse experiences and achievements accumulated since the era of local autonomy with developing countries to help promote sustainable development," and President Kim Il-jae said, "We will actively support local residents in developing countries to solve their own issues and improve welfare."
