Recruiting 20 Teams Total: 10 Learning-Type Teams and 10 Business-Type Teams by the 12th ... 500,000 KRW Support per Learning-Type Team, 1,500,000 KRW per Business-Type Team
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) is launching a support project for 'Neighborhood-level Educational Communities' that assist educational gatherings at the neighborhood level.
The aim is to enable children and adolescents to grow up receiving safe and healthy leisure and educational activities within their neighborhoods, and to strengthen the capacity and autonomy of village educational communities by having local residents and youth take the lead in planning and implementing various educational activities.
The project targets groups consisting of Nowon-gu residents or those whose main activities are based in Nowon-gu. Since it is a neighborhood-level project, at least three members must live or be active in the same neighborhood (dong).
A total of 20 teams will be recruited: 10 learning-type teams and 10 project-type teams.
The learning-type is for ‘learning group’ activities.
The group topics should relate to innovative education such as village educational communities, educational innovation, democratic citizenship education, alternative education, and cooperative childcare and parenting. Groups must hold meetings at least once a month to study and discuss educational realities and countermeasures, and submit reports containing various ideas for building a healthy educational environment.
The opinions gathered will later be reflected in the operational goals, key directions, and tasks of the Nowon Innovation Education District Project. Each team will receive 500,000 KRW for activity expenses.
The project-type involves running the ‘Our Neighborhood Children’s Happiness Project’ led by local uncles and aunts. Teams plan and operate participatory projects tailored to the characteristics of each neighborhood together with children and adolescents. Activities can include mentoring small youth clubs, organizing village exploration groups, planning village festivals with youth, and supporting various cultural, artistic, and autonomous activities of young people. Each team will be supported with 1,500,000 KRW in project funds.
The application deadline is the 12th.
Applications can be submitted by checking the ‘Neighborhood-level Educational Community Support Project Announcement’ on the district office website, then sending the application form and activity plan to the person in charge via email (uterus1@nowon.go.kr).
Written evaluations will be conducted based on the professionalism, validity, and effectiveness of the activity plans, and the results will be individually notified on the 16th.
For further inquiries, contact the Education Support Division or the Nowon Innovation Education Support Center for detailed guidance.
Meanwhile, the district supports various educational community group activities. The parent club project, aimed at enhancing parent exchanges and capabilities, has also received great responses.
Last year’s activities such as the ‘Dad Futsal Group’ where fathers and children play together, ‘Cho.Sa.Mo (Chorok-eul Saranghaneun Appadeul-ui Moim)’ where parents communicate while growing companion plants with their children, and the Kelly balloon-making talent donation club ‘sheNabae (Rest, Share, Learn)’ shone brightly and received enthusiastic participation even during the COVID-19 situation.
