[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Jin Seongjun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, called Mr. A, the son of the owner of the 'Naegok-dong Saengtaetang Restaurant,' a 'hero' and emphasized the need for security measures for him. On the 5th, former Dongyang University professor Jin Joongkwon sarcastically said, "Do comedy."
Earlier, Jin claimed on his Facebook that "The press conference to reveal the truth about the land survey in Naegok-dong by Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party's Seoul mayoral candidate, was canceled. This was because (Mr. A) felt a great threat to his personal safety."
He said, "Threats and harassment from Oh Se-hoon supporters are pouring down on the Naegok-dong cultivator and restaurant owner who are telling the truth," adding, "It is truly deplorable that such outrageous acts are happening in a democratic society."
He continued, "I strongly urge the immediate cessation of these barbaric threats aimed at silencing the truth through intimidation," and emphasized, "The police should immediately devise thorough security measures to protect the lives and safety of these heroes."
Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joongkwon criticized this by saying, "Oh, do comedy." On the same day, through his Facebook, he sarcastically said, "Is the candidate Park's serious decision just the cancellation of a press conference? I thought Park Young-sun was the candidate, but is it the son of the Saengtaetang restaurant owner who is running?" He added, "So it makes sense to ask the police to protect the son of the Saengtaetang restaurant, not Park Young-sun's campaign."

View original imageMr. A, the son of the Saengtaetang restaurant owner, initially announced that he would hold a press conference at 11 a.m. in front of the city hall main gate but suddenly canceled it.
In an interview with a media outlet, Ahn Jin-geol, director of the People's Livelihood Economy Research Institute, who organized Mr. A's press conference, said, "Mr. A and Mr. Kim, the cultivator of the land owned by Oh's in-laws, said they would reveal the truth in front of reporters because Oh kept lying. However, due to severe malicious comments and attacks from the People Power Party side, they feared retaliation if their identities were exposed, so they informed us in the morning that the press conference was canceled."
Instead of the press conference, Mr. A appeared on TBS Radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' and expressed his displeasure. Mr. A said, "I felt quite upset seeing the People Power Party side say things like 'It's Saengtaetang' (a pun implying nonsense). We just told the truth. But when my mother (the Saengtaetang restaurant owner) started being attacked, I got so angry that I requested the interview."
Meanwhile, Mr. A also appeared on 'News Factory' on the 2nd and claimed that in June 2005, candidate Oh visited the restaurant with his father-in-law and others to eat Saengtaetang.
