Shinhan Bank Hosts the 13th Shinhan Music Awards... "4-Year Scholarship for 1st Place Winner"
Planned Collaborations with Past Award Winners
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Shinhan Bank announced on the 5th that it will hold the "13th Shinhan Music Award" to discover and support promising domestic classical musicians.
The Shinhan Music Award is a representative mecena project conducted by Shinhan Bank since 2009 to discover and support purely domestic classical talents, aiming to develop domestic culture and arts and enhance global competitiveness.
Eligible participants are domestic purebred youths born after March 1, 2003, who have completed at least middle school education (no age limit for high school students) and have no formal overseas music education experience. The competition categories include piano, violin, cello, and vocal, totaling four categories.
Applications can be submitted through the Shinhan Bank social contribution website, Beautiful Bank, until May 6. The preliminary round will be held from May 22 to 30, and the final round will take place from June 12 to 13 at the Shinhan Art Hall located in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu. Notably, the final round will be live-streamed on YouTube.
The first-place winner in each Shinhan Music Award category will receive a scholarship totaling 16 million KRW, paid as 4 million KRW annually for four years. The encouragement award recipients will receive a one-time scholarship of 4 million KRW. Additionally, opportunities such as short-term training at prestigious overseas music schools, free rental of the Shinhan Art Hall, and chances to perform in awardee concerts will be provided to help them grow into world-class artists.

A Shinhan Bank official stated, "Through the Shinhan Music Award, the first of its kind in the domestic financial sector, we will discover and support musical prodigies who can contribute to society," adding, "In the future, we plan to promote new social contribution-type performance programs through collaborations with past winners."
