[Asia Economy Reporter La Youngcheol] To preserve the coastal scenery and provide a resting space for vacationers, a coastal forest will be established at Namhangjin Beach in Gangneung.
According to Gangneung City on the 3rd, 75 Korean red pines (with base diameters of 14 to 36 cm) will be supplemented to the existing pine forest or newly planted on the sandy beach, expanding the coastal pine forest section that extends from Gyeongpo Beach to Songjeong Beach all the way to Namhangjin Beach.
The city expects that the trees planted at Namhangjin Beach, which have large diameters and beautiful shapes, will help prevent erosion through coastal scenery restoration and become a tourist attraction.
