EcoTree Campaign Aiming for a Carbon-Neutral Society
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 2nd that it conducted the 'Eco Tree Campaign' as part of the 'KB Kookmin's Clear Sky Forest' project at the Army 3rd Officer Academy located in Yeongcheon-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
The tree planting event held the previous day was attended by Yoo Je-cheol, President of the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, Yeo Woon-tae, Superintendent of the Army 3rd Officer Academy, Lee Soong-jae, Chief of the Army Headquarters Engineering Office, Oh Jae-hang, Vice President of Tetra Pak Korea, Jo Seok-jin, Branch Manager of KB Kookmin Bank Yeongcheon Branch, and executives and employees of related organizations.
The Eco Tree Campaign is an event where the private sector, government, and military jointly plant trees to green army shooting ranges and training grounds. Tree planting in military units not only reduces fine dust and carbon emissions but also helps reduce noise around military training grounds and improves the surrounding environment.

Additionally, KB Kookmin Bank is striving to solve domestic and international fine dust and environmental issues through the 'KB Kookmin's Clear Sky Forest' creation project. Since 2018, it has been establishing windbreak forests and planting fruit trees in the desertification areas of Mongolia, a major source of fine dust. A KB Kookmin Bank official stated, “We will continue to take the lead in eco-friendly activities for the transition to a carbon-neutral society by cooperating with various organizations.”
