Muan-gun Selects 74 Seungdal Scholarship Students for Talent Development
262 Applicants Registered, Recording an Average Competition Rate of 3.5:1
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do announced on the 1st that the Muan County Seungdal Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Kim San) held its regular board meeting for the first half of the year on the 29th of last month and selected a total of 74 Seungdal scholarship recipients across various fields.
As a result of the application process for the first half Seungdal Scholarship, a total of 262 applicants applied, recording an average competition rate of 3.5:1, showing an increase of more than 120% compared to the previous year.
At the board meeting, recipients were selected based on the scholarship foundation’s operating regulations by combining academic performance and living conditions, selecting candidates in order of highest scores. The total scholarship amount is approximately 87 million KRW.
The final selection results were announced on the county website and at each eup and myeon office. Due to COVID-19, a separate scholarship certificate ceremony will not be held; instead, the results will be individually notified to the recipients and the scholarship funds will be transferred to their accounts.
Chairman and County Governor Kim San said, “The Seungdal Scholarship Foundation has secured a principal fund of 11.1 billion KRW through stable management and has firmly established itself as a cradle for nurturing local talent through continuous scholarship projects. We plan to operate various scholarship programs so that outstanding local students can focus on their studies in the future.”

Meanwhile, the Muan County Seungdal Scholarship Foundation, established in 1994, has provided scholarships totaling 2.21 billion KRW to 2,629 students to date, and is engaged in various scholarship projects aimed at fostering prestigious local high schools and nurturing talent by improving the educational environment.
