Seoul City-WK New Deal National Group Delivers 3 Million Masks to COVID-19 Vulnerable Groups
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that WK New Deal National Group will hold a mask donation ceremony for vulnerable groups at Seoul City Hall on the 1st to overcome the COVID-19 crisis.
The event will be attended by Kim Seon-soon, Director of Seoul Welfare Policy Office, Park Hang-jin, Chairman of WK New Deal National Group, and Kim Hyun-hoon, President of Seoul Social Welfare Council.
WK New Deal National Group exports all COVID-19 prevention supplies such as dental masks overseas and donates masks to places in need as part of its social contribution projects to overcome the COVID-19 crisis. So far, about 13 million dental masks have been donated to local governments, welfare facilities, hospitals, and religious organizations.
At this event, 3 million K-Green dental masks (approximately 600 million KRW) will be delivered, and to prevent infections among vulnerable groups during COVID-19, they will be distributed to welfare facilities, the elderly, and disabled people within Seoul through food banks and markets in 25 autonomous districts of Seoul.
Park Hang-jin, Chairman of WK New Deal National Group, said, "The groups most vulnerable to infectious disease disasters are low-income people, the elderly, and the disabled. I hope this donation will help prevent COVID-19 infections among vulnerable groups even a little." He added, "We will continue to actively participate in overcoming difficult times through social contribution activities."
